Hello there,

I'm Abel, a 37-year-old Aussie turned Oslo local. Currently I'm teaching future designers at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design.

I'm on the lookout for someone to share a classic 2 bedroom apartment with, nestled in the heart of Grunnerlokka, right on the southern edge of Birkelunden park. This gem of a place is a stone's throw from everything you could need - 5 minutes to the Akerselva River for your green fix, a brisk 10-minute walk to central locales, 15 minutes to Oslo S, and just 3 minutes from the 11, 12, and 18 trams. Despite its central location, the apartment offers a haven of tranquility, with your future bedroom overlooking a serene courtyard, ensuring peaceful slumbers.

The room awaits your personal touch, unfurnished, but with an option to acquire what you see. A high-quality stereo with Google Chromecast audio ensures good vibes are never in short supply here.

About me? I'm a conversationalist at heart, fueled by good food and the quest for trying to make things in and around me that little bit better than before. When not exploring the sounds of the city or soaking up nature by the Akerselva or in the marka (forests) for a campfire or silent disco adventure, I'm likely hosting a small gathering, savouring the local café culture, or unwinding in a cozy bar.

I enjoy a blend of the social and serene – from baking bread and brewing cider to foraging and advocating for a world less consumed by consumption. I'm seeking an individual who relishes good food and thoughtful conversations. No forced chats here, but I do enjoy a home that's alive with more than just the hum of appliances.

Here's the deal: Rent is 9000 kr monthly, inclusive of water and internet, with electricity separately tallied every three months (The average for whole 2024 was 500 per month per person), deposit is 3 months rent. I cherish a clean, organized space, ensuring the home is always a sanctuary. If you're someone who values tidiness and a harmonious living environment, you'll fit right in.

And just a heads up, I'm greening up the rooms with plants and sprinkling the walls with some art and pics, so it's a good moment to shape the vibe of the house. I am keen to make this space yours just as it is mine.
