Hei!
my name is Marius and I'm a PhD student at the Økonomisk institutt at UiO with a fixed position, stable income, and enough savings to cover any deposit fully from my own funds. I am looking for a one-person flat/hybel or a well-organised shared flat to rent long-term starting earliest mid-July, preferably later. Originally, I am from Munich, Germany, and I moved to Oslo in August 2025. I currently live in a nice shared place with equally nice co-habitants but I would like to move to something closer to the UiO Blindern campus (preferably < 30min using my Elsykkel or public transit), and a bit more personal space as I have realised that this would better fit my everyday life.

Beyond work, I like doing sports (Ultimate Frisbee, skiing, hiking, cycling,...), and I sing in a classical choir (Akademisk Korforening). In the leftover time, I also like learning languages (I have learned some Slovak/Czech, French, Russian, and Polish before, but the lack of time makes it hard to keep up). Selvfølgelig lerner jeg også Norsk, men det går litt sakte fordi i universitetet snakker vi vanligvis engelsk...

I am flexible regarding location/område, size, or layout, but I highly value having some designated space to safely store things such as my skis or my bicycle.
It should go without saying, but I highly appreciate having a calm and friendly relationship with neighbours and/or owner such that everyday life is as easy as possible for everyone. I don't smoke, don't have pets, and don't host parties. In case I have friends visiting, I prefer having it calm and relaxed.

I am happy to answer any follow-up questions you may have, happy to provide further documentation on work and finances as needed. My first tax return should also be done soon.
