My name is Xu Jiabin, and I am from China. I am 32 years old and hold a doctoral degree from Wuhan University. I am married and currently work as a university lecturer at a university in China. My wife’s name is Lu Chengfeng.
I plan to conduct a one-year visiting study at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from December 2025 to December 2026, and I will be accompanied by my wife during this period. We are looking to rent a house near NTNU that can accommodate both of us. The house should be equipped with basic furniture, including a wardrobe, a desk, a refrigerator, and a washing machine, as well as a 1.5m*2m bed. We require a private bathroom, while the kitchen and living room can be shared.
We have certain requirements for the location of the house. It would be ideal if it is within walking distance or reachable via a short public transport ride from NTNU, which will facilitate my daily commute for academic exchanges and research work at the university. Regarding the rent, we hope it will be within a reasonable range, preferably no more than 8,000 NOK per month. Additionally, we would appreciate any rental discounts or flexible payment methods offered by the landlord. Since I do not currently have a BankID, we wonder if payment or verification of financial security can be done via Visa or other similar methods.
The surrounding environment of the house is also important to us. We hope the area has good security and is equipped with basic amenities such as convenience stores and supermarkets to make daily shopping and life more convenient for my wife and me. It would be even better if there are parks or green spaces nearby, where we can take walks and relax in our leisure time.
Both my wife and I are PhD holders. We are polite and cultivated, attach great importance to the public environment and the living experience of others, and will keep the interior quiet and tidy, ensuring we do not cause any disturbance to neighbors. In daily life, we are also willing to get along friendly with others and actively integrate into the local community. Moreover, we have stable financial resources, fully enabling us to pay the rent on time. We will strictly abide by all terms of the rental contract and earnestly fulfill our responsibilities and obligations as tenants. We are willing to provide reference letters or contact information to verify our identity and credibility.
