Room available in beautiful shared house with lovely people and fantastic views over the city centre

Hello!

We have a room available in our beautiful collective house from 1st September. The house is a south-facing villa, with a fantastic view over the city centre. The city is just a short walk away (6 minutes to the train station, 10 minutes to the bus station, 8 minutes to Festplassen).

We are looking for someone who is aged 25+, in order to maintain the atmosphere of an adult community house. We would like someone open and easy-going who can contribute to the fun and social atmosphere in the house. We are a close group of friends and we like to hang out together both in and out of the house. We value the house being kept tidy, and we all make an effort to clean up after ourselves.

The house:

The house is split into 2 apartments, consisting of 2 floors each, and we live in the bottom 2 floors. Our apartment consists of:

Ground floor: 3 bathrooms (1 with shower, 1 with shower+toilet, 1 with toilet), laundry room, and 3 bedrooms.
First floor: cloakroom, kitchen, living room & dining room (combined) and 6 bedrooms.
A garden with a lawn, vegetable patches, & flower beds.
A terrace with a seating area and fire pit.
A winter garden / conservatory, located on the terrace.
An outdoor shed, used as a storage room for bikes and skis etc.

The room:

The rent is 5556 kr/month, including internet and electricity.
The room is furnished.

The contract runs from 1st September 2025, with no end date. There is a notice period of 3 months to terminate the contract. The deposit is 10312kr.

Most of us work or study from Monday to Friday, and have evenings and weekends free. Each of us have our own routines when we’re not working, but there are usually several people at home simultaneously. When we’re at home together we like to hang out in the living room, play games, and watch films/tv.

Once a week we all eat dinner together, usually on a Sunday, taking it in turns to cook for each other. We also like to have bonfires and BBQs on the terrace (mainly in the warmer spring and summer months, but also sometimes in winter). A couple of times a year we go on a cabin trip together.

We like to tend the garden in summer. We grow our own vegetables and herbs both outside and in the winter garden. Strawberries and raspberries grow naturally each summer, and we also have blackcurrant and redcurrant bushes.

Between us we have a broad range of hobbies, including hiking, skiing (mainly ski touring), snowkiting, paragliding, fishing, climbing, cycling, acrobatics, knitting, baking, film, and watching football. Those of us who have hobbies in common often do them together.

We share cleaning responsibilities with a cleaning schedule, with the house being cleaned once per week. This means that each person cleans one floor of the house approximately once per month. We share responsibility for other house tasks like house shopping, cooking common dinner, looking after house plants, garden work, etc. We also have a monthly house meeting in which everyone is able to raise topics to discuss. We are a very democratic group who are good at communicating with each other, and we make decisions as a collective.
