Senior Scientist | Circular Wastewater Systems | EU Water Policy & Infrastructure

With over 17 years of experience bridging academia and industry, I specialize in wastewater treatment, nutrient recovery, and circular economy solutions. As a Senior Scientist at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, I focus on circular wastewater systems, aligning research with EU water directives, including the Water Framework Directive (WFD), Nitrate Directive, and Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive (UWWTD). I also contribute to the Circular Economy Action Plan, advancing water reuse and nutrient recycling to improve sustainability in urban and agricultural water systems.

I lead large-scale EU projects and multi-partner research consortia, securing strategic funding for practical solutions in wastewater management, nitrogen mitigation, and regulatory compliance. Since joining RISE in 2022, I have co-led projects totaling over €20.5 million in funding, including:
- CiNURGi (EU Interreg BSR) – Circular nutrient management in the Baltic Sea Region.
- iCOSHELLs (EU Mission Soil) – Advancing bio-based solutions for soil health.
- FERTITEC (EU Horizon CSA) – Developing sustainable fertilizers to reduce nutrient loss.

Academic & Professional Expertise
I hold a PhD in General Linguistics from the University of Gothenburg and degrees in IT and English Language from Singapore. My expertise spans policy research, strategic project management, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. I was also a Riksbankens Jubileumsfond (RJ) Flexit scholar, focusing on applied research in urban sustainability and industry-academia knowledge transfer.

I actively collaborate with EU policy networks, including:
